CANCELLED - Butterfly Walk at Upland Pastures

Date: 7/15/2018
Time: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: Upland Pastures Preserve

7/9/18 - After a thorough review of our preserves and the butterfly population this year, it was determined that we will need to cancel this butterfly walk.  Our leaders felt that there was not going to be enough to see to warrant a walk for just that purpose.

Please plan on joining us for the butterfly walk that is scheduled for Sunday, July 29th at 11:00 amour Strauss Preserve.   See the event details listed below.

Summer is a glorious time in our local fields to view and enjoy our local butterfly population.

Join Naromi and Friends of the Great Swamp on Saturday, July 14th at 11:00 am, as we walk the Upland Pastures Preserve to identify and learn more about our local butterflies.
Leaders Laurie Wallace and Dennis Larkin will be your guides for the afternoon and based on the timing, we hope to view Swallowtails, both Tiger and Black as well as Painted Lady and Red Admiral, and maybe some Monarchs.
Please wear long sleeves and pants, a hat and bring binoculars, water and tick repellent.
RSVP is required,  Please contact Naromi's office at 860-354-0260 or click HERE to send an email.

Naromi's Upland Pastures Preserve is located on the north side of Route 37 East, Sherman CT, opposite White Silo Farm (that address is 32 Route 37 East, Sherman CT).  Turn in the dirt road with several mailboxes; go about 100 yards, and park along the road.  The group will gather there to walk into the field.
