National Trail Days Hike - Herrick to Bulls Bridge

Date: 6/3/2018
Time: 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Location: Herrick Trail

National Trails Day is celebrated on the first weekend in June nationwide.  Events are held throughout the United States to help promote awareness of the wide variety of benefits that trails provide, encourage people to discover their local trials, raise awareness of trail issues and instill excitement for the outdoors.

Herrick SignpostJoin Naromi for a family-friendly one way hike between Evans Hill Road in Sherman and Bull's Bridge in Kent via the Herrick and Appalachian Trails, with views of the Housatonic River valley and a crossing the Ten Mile River on the Ned Anderson Bridge.

Highlights of the hike will be the Housatonic Overlook on federal land (about 25 minutes up the trail) and the lovely beach and meadow at the confluence of the Housatonic River and the Ten Mile River.  From its start on Naromi's Herrick Preserve the trail follows an old wood road to its connection with the Appalachian Trail close to the top of Ten Mile Hill.

Hike will be about 2-3 hours.  Bring a snack and water and be sure to wear sturdy shoes suitable for walking on uneven ground.

Pre-registration is recommended so we can arrange car pools ahead  between the starting and ending trailheads. We will contact registrants if there is a question of weather.

For more information and to register, please contact the Naromi office at or call 860-354-0260
