Salamander Walk POSTPONED
Location: Towner Hill Preserve
The Salamander Walk has been postponed for Friday, March 31 until further notice. With the colder temperatures and wash out potential for tomorrow, we have opted to postpone this event due to less than optimal conditions. We will repost if we reschedule this event. An update from our amphibian expert John Foley is below:
As of Wednesday, March 29, "I saw a good amount of Jefferson salamander egg masses deposited and even better; I saw a handful of Marbled salamander larvae swimming around. To my knowledge, nobody has documented Marbleds there, so its a great find!" To be continued!!
Walk to the vernal pool nestled between the double hilltop to view the salamanders activity the night of the first warm rain in April. Reservations for this hike are required because the group will be going out at night in light rain. Flashlights, rain gear, boots are a must.

This is a free family event.
Parking is at White Silo Farm on Route 37 just west of the Sherman/New Milford town line. We will meet there and then carpool to the trail head.
